At the centre, the crossing is covered with a tierceron rib vault with simple tiercerons and liernes, with keystones at the intersections and the central one pierced; in both arms, that same design adapts to the rectangular space.
htmlText_5BEE8CF7_4A1C_2557_41CE_EAF73388A13E.html = In the chancel, at the foot of the vault, stands the high altarpiece in Baroque style, which houses the image of the Christ of the Agony.
An exceptional and expressive carving in blackened wood, attributed to the sculptor Lucas Mitata (late 16th century), standing out against the gilding of the altarpiece.
htmlText_D3E2A93F_C3C0_ED02_41C4_5EDEB6FB4592.html = The hermitage displays the physical evidence supporting the legend of the Lizard, in gratitude for the help of the Most Holy Christ to the shepherd who killed the monster, possibly a large caiman.
On show are the remains of the animal's skin together with the shotgun with its barrel destroyed.
